I hope you guys were like me and did NOT check the internet nearly as much this weekend (and therefore didn't notice my lack of posts). Instead, I hope you were enjoying this amazing weather and spent some time outside!
I know I did. I was in desperate need of a break. No matter how much a gal loves (or hopefully not in your case, hates) her work, the daily grind can get to us all.
So I took some time out and ventured up to the Hamptons where Michael (my boyfriend), Marley (our dog), and I met up with our friends from Ole Miss, the Cleary's! We stayed at The Surf Lodge in Montauk -- which, by the way, was a lot like going to camp! For being one of the chicest spots to stay in the Hamptons, they provided zero amenities. And when I asked for two extra towels they handed me all they had that was clean -- two floor mats!
Even better? When we made our reservations, they only had one room available, which they said was a double bed room. We thought we would bunk up for two days just for the opportunity to stay at an amazing place. We arrive at The Surf Lodge and all that is available is a king size bed. Their solution? Bring us a twin size air mattress that looks like it has been dragged through the mud. And to make this story even better, 20 minutes into settling into our tiny space, another couple walks into our room, drops their luggage, and declares, "What are you doing in our room?! We've been staying here for three days!"
Despite the initial confusion, we got to stay in our room and had an amazing time. We ate, we drank, and we spent our days being lazy on the beach. I think the most active we ever got was our attempt at long boarding --- do you spot Marley? Yes, she is the most amazing dog ever.
