The rain in NYC is just not letting up! It’s getting seriously flooded here! The only good thing about this terrible weather is that it gives us a chance to chat about our rainy day must haves:
Hunter Boots
I seriously don’t know what I would do without my Hunter’s. They’re a closet staple for anyone living (and walking to work) in a big city- I counted eight women wearing them on my way in this morning! They come in a variety of fun colors and patterns, so you can still express your personal style with them. Bonus- they make warm socks to go in them, so no more ugly snow boots for those of us who commute by foot!
Unique Umbrella
Has this ever happened to you? You walk into a store or restaurant, put your plain black umbrella in the stand, and when you go to leave you can’t tell it apart from the five other black umbrellas that have since appeared. It can’t just be me! Solve this problem by purchasing a uniquely patterned umbrella! Voila- now the only danger of the umbrella stand is some envious shopper taking your umbrella and leaving their boring one behind!
Trench Coat
I’m a huge fan of the classic Burberry trench coat (I got mine at a vintage store in London). If you live in a city, a trench is a must in order to save your clothing! Nothing is worse than showing up to the office soaking wet- I know, I’ve done it.
Bumble and Bumble Sea Salt Spray
On those rainy days when not even my umbrella can keep my hair from getting drenched, Bumble and Bumble Surf spray (made with sea salt) is my lifesaver. Spritz some on your damp hair after arriving at the office and you will look like you just came in from a relaxing day at the beach.
Diamonds
Rainy days tend to bum me out. What better way to pull yourself out of a rut than to wear diamonds! Stormy days are an especially great day to wear diamond bangles, particularly on your umbrella holding wrist- might as well show off your bling if your arm is forced to be in that bent position.
