PINK PROMISES

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Pink Promises Luncheon on Long Island. This luncheon was sponsored by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to raise funds for research- and raise money they certainly did! By the time we had sat down for lunch (an hour into the event)- the BCRF had already raised over $300,000!!
The luncheon included a Fashion Showcase event- as all the best do, and our good friend, Maralyn Lakin of Modern Styles for Life, asked J/Hadley Jewelry to be a part of her display. I was able to meet hundreds (literally) of women (and a few men) who had taken the afternoon off from their busy lives to come out and support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I was also able to help many of them find their perfect J/Hadley piece. The proceeds from everything sold by Modern Styles for Life were donated directly to the BCRF (can we say amazing!!)
At the luncheon, Tory Burch (one of my business idols) spoke of her personal connection to the cause. Susan Lucci, emmy award winner and All My Children Star, also gave a heartfelt speech describing her mother’s battle with the disease. Clifford Huddis, M.D., gave an informative speech on what we can do to help prevent breast cancer from occurring in our lives. His big advice: EAT LESS, EXERCISE MORE. High calorie diets can contribute to the development of breast cancer. It was such an inspirational event, and the venue was beautiful (see above)! Hopefully this is an annual event that J/Hadley will continue to be a part of!
P.S. Have you bought your pink J/H item to have 40% of the proceeds donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure?!
