This weekend I had one of those “I need to change my look right now” moments. After spending all of Friday night catching up on my magazine reading- my new Vogue, Allure, Self and Lucky all arrived on the same day- I was filled with Fall wardrobe inspiration. I was especially inspired by layering and the return of the poncho to the fashion world.
I ran out the door Saturday morning, determined to add some edge to my usual routine of dresses day after day. I spent most of the day shopping the Columbus Day sales at BCBG, Bloomingdales and J. Crew. I found a fabulous cowl neck poncho from J. Crew, some cozy sweaters and layering tees. My very favorite purchase however, was a pair of waxed black pants from Zara. According to my Friday night magazine-a-thon, anything leather-esque is in for the season! I plan to wear them with everything from a tank top and scarf to an oversized sweater and ankle booties. I can't wait to layer a few J/Hadley pendants to complete my look- I'm thinking the circle and a rose colored geode!
To add the finishing touch to my weekend of transformation, I attempted dying my brown hair auburn a la Emma Stone in Crazy, Stupid, Love (did you guys see it?! I don’t care what the critics say- I LOVED it!). Honestly, I’ll probably be calling my hairdresser this week to even up my locks because they certainly don’t look as good as Emma’s, but it’s always fun to play around with a new look! Now if only the weather would cooperate- I’m ready for some real fall temperatures so I can break out my new sweaters!
